As part of an important £2 million renovation, Blenheim Palace announces the return of corporate events with a difference in The Orangery. In the magnificent backdrop of “Britain’s Greatest Palace,” the newly renovated Orangery is the ideal location to organize a business or charitable dinner, exhibit your new product line, or bring customers to a networking drinks event.
Fresh fruits and vegetables from the Palace’s kitchen garden are used in the elegant setting and dining experience, which also uses locally produced ingredients. The Orangery opens onto the Italian Terrace, which looks out onto the private Italian Garden, and features spectacular chandeliers and a seamless fusion of modern sophistication and classic charm. a distinctive and memorable event location perfect for formal business gatherings.
“Just because it’s business doesn’t mean the occasion or setting should be anything less than inspiring and inviting,” said Heather Carter, managing director of Blenheim Palace. The Orangery offers the ultimate ‘wow factor’ for clients, customers, and coworkers.
The glass ceiling of the 18th-century Orangery was recently replaced with a timber and slate structure in keeping with Vanbrugh’s original design as part of a ground-breaking restoration effort that was wholly sponsored by Blenheim Palace guests. This is reportedly the first restoration project of its kind on a Grade 1 Listed structure. The glass roof of the Orangery was last restored in the 1970s, but it was completely worn out and needed to be replaced.
As its name implies, The Orangery is steeped in history and frequently serves as a unique talking point and conversation starter. The Orangery was originally a greenhouse with huge windows that provided the ideal atmosphere for the development of oranges and lemons throughout the winter. The Orangery has seen numerous transformations over the past 300 years, including being used as a greenhouse, theater, offices, and an art gallery.
