Hilton adds two more hotels to its Rotterdam portfolio

With Annexum, Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has a franchise deal to build two hotels in Rotterdam with a combined 480 rooms. Following renovations, the Mainport Hotel Rotterdam Curio Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre are scheduled to open in 2024. During this time, both hotels will stay open and continue to operate as Hilton affiliate properties. The two hotels were recently acquired by investment group Annexum, joining Hilton Rotterdam and Motto by Hilton Rotterdam Blaak in the Dutch city as the first establishments under the Curio Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton brands.

“Hilton has a proud history in the Netherlands dating back more than 60 years, and we’re actively growing our portfolio to meet customer demand, with 18 hotels currently trading or under development,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, for Hilton. The opening of Curio Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton will increase the appeal of Rotterdam as a travel destination. Rotterdam is a dynamic city with a thriving cultural scene. By working together with Annexum, we will strengthen Hilton’s footprint in Rotterdam and meet even more different traveler needs.

“Rotterdam’s popularity with business and leisure travelers is only growing, and, in partnership with Hilton, we’re confident that these hotels, which we recently acquired, will be immensely popular with visitors,” said Ronald Jansen, partner at Annexum. We are thrilled to improve their offering with the DoubleTree by Hilton and Curio Collection by Hilton brands thanks to the properties’ exceptional position in the heart of Rotterdam. Following their renovations, we can’t wait to welcome visitors to these magnificent hotels.

Rotterdam’s Mainport Hotel, part of the Hilton Curio Collection

The Mainport Hotel Rotterdam, the city’s first Curio Collection by Hilton property, will provide 215 charming and roomy guest rooms as well as stunning views of both the waterfront and the city center of Rotterdam from wraparound windows. The hotel will also have a bar and restaurant with a view of the River Maas that will provide a delectable variety of dishes and drinks. The hotel’s spa and fitness center are located on the top floor and are available to guests as well. The hotel will include 10 meeting rooms totaling 600 square meters of conference and events area for corporate travelers.

The Curio Collection by Hilton is an upscale, international collection of one-of-a-kind hotels that have been carefully chosen for their distinctive personalities and are each an essential component of the places they are located. Recent openings include the Curio Collection by Hilton’s Iceland Parliament Hotel in Reykjavik, the Domes Aulus Elounda in Crete, and the Hotel Montera Madrid in Madrid.

Hilton DoubleTree Rotterdam Center

With 265 guest rooms, a bar, and a restaurant open to guests of both the Mainport Hotel Rotterdam and DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre, the DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre is housed in the adjacent structure at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge. The hotel will feature its own spa and pool, and many of these amenities will be accessible to visitors at both hotels. The conference spaces at DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre are situated on the 15th and 16th floors and offer breathtaking views of the port, the River Maas, and the city skyline. There will be an excellent combined capacity of 800 for meetings and functions between the two locations.

With a mission to make guests feel at home while they travel, DoubleTree by Hilton is a rapidly expanding, global portfolio of upscale hotels. One example of this concept is the warm cookie welcome customers receive upon check-in. With two locations in Amsterdam—one in Sittard and one in Soestduinen—DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre joins other hotels carrying the brand in the Netherlands.

Private parking will be available at both hotels, along with electric vehicle charging stations, and both will have quick access to the Leuvehaven metro station and Rotterdam’s large tram system. Amazing city must-sees including the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Old Harbour, Maritime Museum Rotterdam, and Cube Houses are close by and are situated on the Leuvehaven waterfront.

The acclaimed Hilton Honors guest loyalty program, which offers more than 165 million members the opportunity to earn Points for hotel stays and activities when they book directly with Hilton, will be available to visitors of all Hilton locations. Members of Hilton Honors can also gain access to immediate rewards and advantages including contactless check-in with room choice and special member pricing.
