The Qatar Airways Group names a new Group CEO.

After 27 years of outstanding service, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker will retire from his current role as Group Chief Executive with effect from November 5, 2023. Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer will succeed Al Baker as Group Chief Executive for Qatar Airways.

Under Akbar Al Baker’s direction, Qatar Airways has developed into one of the most recognizable and dependable brands in the world, standing for excellent customer service and the highest standards. The national airline of the State of Qatar has won the title of “World’s Best Airline” an unprecedented seven times, and its cutting-edge Hamad International Airport, which is managed and operated by the same company, has also been named the “Best Airport in the World.”
